Friends’ Weekend 2016

The traditional Autumn meeting of the Friends took place on 28-30 October.

On Friday evening, Joy Miller and Mazda Munn of Millport Art Group showed us how they have regenerated the College Annexe as a vibrant studio and workshop.

On Saturday the Friends’ AGM took place in the restful setting of the College Library, and in the afternoon an impressive Service of Music and Words for All Souls’ took place. The service included Herbert Howells' Requiem, sung by Glasgow Chamber Choir conducted by Frikki Walker, poems by Ivor Gurney, and piano pieces by Howells played by Alastair Chisholm. Canon Alec Boyd officiated.

There was also plenty of time for conversation and recreation, and of course good home-cooking as ever.
